Greetings From Executive Director Jerald Ulmer
The “SPIRIT” & physical presence of everything about Oak Park is far too young to collapse and die.
She was born in 1928. At a minimum to move towards her 100th birthday in 2028, several things we must DO NOW to be properly positioned for that celebration. 1.- Express gratitude and support to the City of Laurel as they have already moved forward in working with the State to ensure the forth coming preservation of our beloved Alumni maintains its historical integrity
2- Maintain a strong and viable base of dues paying members. One can't have family without family members.
3- Continue our vitality in biennial reunions, awarding of scholarship, youth mentoring and educational support to Oak Park Elementary and the community at large. 4- Collect, preserve, store and display (in Alumni Building) her students ‘contributions
to America and aboard.
The City's goal is for us to see a new structure as we return for our 2022 Reunion (if there are not unexpected/untimely resolvable construction interruptions).
Each of us is our best membership recruiting asset. Please encourage all the loved ones throughout your family to become DUES PAYING members.
I continue to pray daily for the health and well- being of each Oak Parkite. Though these are difficult times, we have hope through faith in Christ; please, stay encourage through it all.
I commend your busy hard-working Board and the various Committee members for their labors in your behalf!
We are off to a great start for our 2022 Reunion. Please remember that YOU are Oak Park.
Jerald,
Executive Director NOPHSAA
